Bridezilla “Bride Without A Groom”

HI HI EVERYONE!!! So today’s post will be about an author named Amy Lynch. Shes having her one year anniversary for her book called Bridezilla ‘Bride Without A Groom’. I thought it would be great idea to share with my blog readers especially my bookworm lovers. This book is a Romance and Comedy book all rolled up into one that I’m sure is bound to have you eyes glued to the book.  So let’s get started first with a guest blog from her.

Wanted: Time machine.
You’ve heard the common complaint before: there are simply not enough hours in the day. This is usually issued by women who are juggling a mobile phone in one hand, and a teething toddler in the other, whilst trying to feed the dog and stir the dinner. With only twenty four hours in the day, it can be hard to keep all of the proverbial balls in the air.
I have friends who make circus plate spinners look like amateurs. They excel at multi-tasking, coping with motherhood, relationships and careers. Personally, I see myself as a swan – you know, peaceful on the surface, but paddling frantically beneath the water.
‘How do you do it all?’ I asked a friend over a quick coffee recently. We hadn’t seen each other in ages, between organizing children’s birthday parties, and catching up on work. My friend had just been promoted again. Her children are mini prodigies, and she has taken up jogging.
‘I’m exhausted,’ she confessed. ‘Sure, what can you do?’
She then suggested that we should put an advert in the classified section of our local newspaper. It would read a little something like this:

Wanted: Time machine. Colour not important (although, we must admit that that we are quite partial to pink), must be in good condition and suit a small budget. Built in stereo-system / Karaoke facility would be an advantage. Backwards transportation to our carefree twenties, and forwards transportation through monotonous work days essential. Special button to freeze time is a must. Please contact 1800-STRESSED-LADIES-CLUB
We finished our lattes and hurried back to our busy lives. My daughter had swimming at three, and my son had football at four. Oh, and I wanted to have another bash at a chapter I wrote last night in between ironing and dog walking. Some things never change.

I’m sure your all wondering who the master mind behind this funny Guest Posting is…well you need not wait anymore! Here’s a little background on Amy Lynch.

Amy Lynch is an Irish author of humorous romantic women’s fiction, but not always with fairy tale endings! She has been working in the charity sector for many years, is married and has two young children. When she is not writing, she can be found juggling school runs, packing lunch boxes, tackling the laundry mountain and walking two large rescue dogs who stare at her until she walks them. Talk about multi-tasking!
Her debut novel ‘Bride Without a Groom’ is a laugh out loud Bridezilla comedy, was published by Avon, Harper Collins in May 2015.

Single, coupled-up or married, this laugh-out-loud summer read is the perfect anecdote for the wedding season!

Rebecca has chosen the most luscious, five tiered, wedding cake. The engagement ring that she has selected is celebrity inspired. The wedding singer is on speed dial. He doesn’t usually do Michael Bolton, but as it’s for a first dance he’ll make an exception. Father Maguire is checking dates for the parish church as we speak. The deposit on the white sand honeymoon is paid for in full on Barry’s card. She has fallen for an ivory lace couture gown that is to die for. The down payment may require her to sell a left kidney, but it will be worth it. Isn’t that why you have two?

There’s one teeny tiny problem. It’s nothing, really. No need to panic! It’s just that Barry has yet to propose. Says he’s not ready! He can be a bit of a kill joy that way. In fact, he’s gone away on a business trip and says that he needs some space. Meanwhile, Barry’s tie loosens, the Tiger beer is flowing, and his colleague Shelley is providing more than a shoulder to cry on. Back in Dublin, Rebecca worries, putting Operation Win Back Barry into action. But who is the mysterious dark haired woman that is so keen to talk to her, and what is it that Barry wants to get off his chest?

Sounds interesting right!! Make sure you all go check it out and get a copy in those hands quickly!!! Happy Reading Everyone!!!!!

Alexei (Her Russian Protector #8)

Hi everybody this is the very first blog post for book reviews. I decided to kick it off with a book review of one of the many books that I have read. The book that I decided to go with was a recent release by one of my favorite authors Roxie Rivera. She has been MIA for about a year in a half now due to health problems but decided to drop this lovely little joy bomb on her readers. I was beyond excited and can you say hello to a very unproductive day with reading this :p , but without further a due let’s get started on the book review that you’ve all been waiting so patiently for.

Alexei Her Russian Protector is a stand alone story that follows the rest of the Her Russian Protector series 1-7. The main characters for this book are Shay Sandoval and Alexei Sarnov. They are first introduced to us in the short stories A Very Russian Christmas. The book is told from first person by Shay and third person from Alexei.  I want to give you all a little background on the main characters. Shay is a college graduate, she works for a cleaning company that sometimes has to go to Alexei’s car dealership that he owns, she has her own designing website where she makes purses and handbags. Alexei is a very wealthy man who has made a way for himself to have a legit business and getting away from the Russian mafia, although he still is very close friends with the people still apart of that life namely his old boss, Nikolai Kalasnikov.  He is the Russian mafia boss of Houston Texas who has been introduced   in previous books for the series and also has two of his own books which are: Nikolai Her Russian Protector book #4 and #6. This book also lets us see many familiar faces from previous books also.

Alexei and Shay’s relationship is one that starts as a friendship but leads to something more when her sister causes problems. Shay’s Sister Shannon along with her boyfriend Ruben get into trouble way over their heads with an IST theft deal that leads to putting Shay’s life in danger; they set out on the run which leaves Shay to deal with problems she knew nothing of.  This leads to her being in the protection of Alexei who knows he wants Shay but doesn’t believe that he can give her the life that she wants which is full of love he feels he’s incapable of giving. With Shay playing the role of Alexei’s mistress Alexei is constantly finding himself cleaning up the messes that Shay makes with trying to save her sister. The sex scenes are very intimate, seductive and romantic.  Even though Alexei is always trying to woo and romance Shay his actions sometimes prove a different story and leaves Shay stuck in the dark. Their bodyguard Stas doesn’t help the constant wandering of her mind by filling it with things that she is supposed to accept in her position. The building of their romantic relationship is a slow and frustrating one but in the end it is very sweet. I wasn’t to fond of how the story ended I feel like there should have been a little more but who knows maybe there more to come in a new book that Roxie Rivera has up her sleeves. All in All I give the book four stars out of five. Happy reading everybody!!
